Block of the month quilting

Progress is finally being made. This is the 2010 Sue Spargo block of the month, Crimson Tweed. I started out pretty strong, but just sort of put it aside in June and that was that. I do this sort of thing every year. Then the end of the year comes and I have another UFO. Well I made a decision this year not to do another BOM and I think for now that is a wise idea for me. I am going to stretch myself to at least finish this top before the end of the month and will post progress as it occurs. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and started putting the blocks I had finished together and was able to add in the flying geese. Hopefully tomorrow I will make some more progress.

I am new to sharing

Wow, for over a year I have been promising my friends that I would start a blog so that I could share what I am working on, where I am going and other special things. Now the time is come and I hope that everyone will be patient with my new endeavor. I am so excited that 2010 is just about done. It has been a tough year in a lot of ways and I plan to start 2011 on a very positive note. The first thing I have to say is I have made a goal to make a purse a week in 2011. I am hoping that the blog will help keep me honest and on track. Some will be complex taking more than a week to complete and some will be simple. Some will be very small and a few will be enormous. Since I committed to myself this year to wear only neutral colors, mostly black and white, this will be one of the ways I can add color and style to my wardrobe. Next week I will reveal my first purse with any technical hints. Today I am trying to work on finishing a Sue Spargo (my hero) quilt. On a personal note my son is leaving to go and stay with his new girlfriends family until he goes back to college. I am glad to reclaim my home, which had become a massive dorm room, but will miss him.
